Fertility Specialist Aimee S. Chang, M.D.Aimee S. Chang, MD

Aimee S. Chang, MD first became interested in reproductive medicine when she was a medical student studying the intricacies of how the brain at its most fundamental cellular and molecular levels influenced the menstrual cycle. She performed her initial research investigations while at the Yale University School of Medicine in the laboratory of one of the pioneers of reproductive neuroendocrinology. This interest blossomed into a career dedicated to the care of patients experiencing difficulties with fertility while studying and training at some of the leading universities and medical centers in the country.

Dr. Chang is board certified in both Reproductive Endocrinology & Infertility, and Obstetrics & Gynecology.

She received her undergraduate degree from Stanford University in Biology with Honors and Academic Distinction and induction into Phi Beta Kappa. She was chosen as a select Regent’s Scholar to attend the University of California, San Diego School of Medicine. She was awarded a Howard Hughes Medical Institute Fellowship performed at Yale, where she also completed her residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology. Dr. Chang completed her subspecialty fellowship in Reproductive Endocrinology & Infertility at the Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis, after which she served on its faculty as an Assistant Professor and Director of the Oocyte Donor Program.

Dr. Chang has presented her research nationally, and is the author of numerous peer-reviewed publications within the field of reproductive medicine. For her research efforts, she has been awarded the President’s Presenter Award from the Society for Gynecological Investigation. She has also been past recipient of the prestigious American Society of Reproductive Medicine Ortho-McNeil Research grant and the Berlex Foundation Scholar’s Award.

She is an active member of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, American Society of Reproductive Medicine, Oregon Medical Association, and Medical Society of Metropolitan Portland.

Areas of clinical interest and subspecialty expertise include all aspects of infertility and assisted reproductive technologies, in vitro fertilization (IVF), reproductive endocrinology, menstrual irregularities, recurrent miscarriages, polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS), advanced laparoscopic and hysteroscopic surgery including for endometriosis and fibroids, Mullerian anomalies, and outcomes following assisted reproductive techniques.

After having grown up in southern California and studied on both coasts, Dr. Chang has finally settled in the beautiful Pacific Northwest, currently residing in Portland with her husband and two young children.
